Engagement to Aisle in under 6 months! So you just got engaged – congratulations!! Here at Prested we have lots of enquiries from brides planning a wedding as far in advance as 3 years. Equally though, we hear from those wishing to become Mr & Mrs a lot quicker. So can you plan a wedding and get married in six months? We say YES!
Traditionally, engaged couples booked a date a couple of years ahead in order for them to save up and pay for the wedding.
There are obviously a few non-negotiables on dates. You have to both be there (!), and you will want to ensure that most of your family and friends can make it too. However, 6 months is usually plenty of time for someone to confirm their attendance. (Save the date cards are not usually sent out until 6 months prior anyway).
What Are The Benefits?
One major benefit of a short planning time is that you are likely to get a great deal on a venue. Shopping around for venues will find you some great last minute bargains. Despite the popularity of a venue there are always dates available if you’re able to be flexible. Saturdays in high summer are obviously always going to be popular, but many brides are now opting for other days of the week. Off peak months and Thursday and Sunday weddings usually have offers available. Here at Prested, September and December are really popular months – in 2019 we had almost as many weddings in December as we did in May.
Engagement to Aisle in under 6 months
- Everyone knows that weddings can sometimes snowball out of control, with too many opinions. Sometimes, the bride and groom can even forget what it was they wanted in the first place. With a shorter time-frame, there is less likelihood of this happening.
- Contrary to what you may initially think, getting married within 12 months can be less stressful than a long build up. Firstly, friends will be more willing to help you out with things. Secondly, the date will come round so quickly there simply won’t be time to dwell on things.
- If you’re creative and have lots of ideas about themes and decorations etc, there is less chance for other people to copy your ideas and steal your thunder.
- You may end up with a slightly smaller wedding than those with a longer build-up. This, in turn, will save you money.
- You will almost certainly get a better deal on your venue, some suppliers also have last minute availability deals.
- Buying your dress will come down to what is available in the time frame, thus making your decision easier.
- It’s all very romantic – you won’t have to wait long until you’re Mr and Mrs!
